Job description

Portfolio Management:

  • Assist in formulating the investment strategic for the company including reviewing research and undertaking market analysis
  • Undertake portfolio reviews to ensure assets, cities and Universities align to required KPIs and they will achieve an 8%+ IRR (unleveraged) individually or as part of a cluster.
  • Strategic overview of all ongoing investment activities to ensure alignment to key KPIs and advising on appropriate prioritisation
  • Form part of sign off process to ensure relevant due diligence has been completed and all key internal stakeholder have been consulted and inputted.
  • Approve capital allocation and review CapEx programmes to ensure commercial objectives are achieved across Net Zero, Development, Refurbishment, life cycling and EWS
  • Undertake the 6 monthly portfolio valuation process (June & December) and report to Audit Committee.
  • Establish relationships with existing lenders and assist with property enquires and ad hoc valuation requests
  • Reporting and external communication of the UK strategy including benefits of building clusters and Postgrad assets including assisting with Annual Report and Accounts
  • Contributing and assisting in a small and flat team to achieve its wider targets

Investment Management:

  • Able to lead or as part of a wider group of investment professionals deliver the student investment strategy across the UK
  • End to end involvement in investments from origination of the deal, due diligence, structuring, negotiations and legal executions. On disposals this would also include preparing and marketing.
  • Preparing investment briefings and papers for investment committees for IC and Board
  • Working close with the operations teams to successfully mobilise acquisition or de-mobilise disposals
  • Input into cashflow models to assist acquisitions and disposals decisions
  • Work closely with development and operations colleagues providing support and advice on their projects
