Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Technical Manager to join our client on a brand new large scales residential scheme in South West London. This is a freelance position, for 12 months (covering maternity leave).

  • Paying £350-£400 per day
  • Starting last week of July

Our client is keen to speak to experienced Managers that have worked with resi developers, with a background in dealing with large scale, complex facades. You will not be managing a team, but a large block.


Reporting into a Senior Technical Manager you will:

  • Be commercially aware working with established budgets to provide cost effective solutions
  • Manage/implement and deliver all activities on your block.
  • Responsible for monthly audits, reporting and delivery targets
  • Arrange Consultant Tender Bids for production information
  • Organises Land/Technical Handover meetings
  • Monitor and oversee all technical statutory obligations including planning, S106, building contract/warranty and other legal agreements
  • Responsible for reporting on all technical matters at monthly project meetings
  • Management of consultant design delivery programme
  • Problem solving and timely response to contractor RFI ensuring programme is maintained
  • Lead and chair Design Team meetings
  • Monitor and control the professional fee budget and update fee report on a monthly basis, to incorporate into the Cost Report
  • Must monitor programme and manage project work to ensure the Regions targets are achieved
  • Should effectively use resources, programme and prioritise work to ensure that delays do not occur through the life of the project from feasibility to site completion
  • Discharge all Health & Safety issues including CDM Client, Designer and Principal Designer responsibilities
  • Oversee the NHBC/building regulations applications to approval
  • Adhere to strict Quality Management procedures

Experience

  • Construction, engineering or architecture qualification
  • Strong understanding of all preconstruction, construction, and planning activities
  • Understand contract law (design liability)
  • Strong technical expertise and proficiency with design packages
  • Knowledge of the design and building processes
  • Able to challenge expensive cost solutions and seek alternative solutions
  • Keeping abreast of new technologies, innovation and contributions to business improvement forums
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations and wider H&S statutory framework.
