The 1st June marks the beginning of Pride Month, dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQ+ community as well as honouring the community’s history and achievements.
Pride Month is held in June to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, which was the tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the US. The first Pride, was held in June 1970, marking the first anniversary of the uprising.
Since then, the parades and celebrations have been a sign of working towards liberation, visibility, and equality.
One of the core aspects of Pride Month is visibility, allowing LGBTQ+ individuals to be seen and heard, dismantling stereotypes and challenging societal norms.
This blog aims to raise awareness of the ways the property industry is celebrating Pride, along with some ways you can get involved to support the community this Pride Month in London.
