Job description
We are seeking a Head of Asset Management to lead the strategic and operational management of a unique portfolio of PBSA assets. As a startup with a small, dynamic team, this role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and is ready to take full ownership of both the big picture and the day-to-day operations. Every decision and action has a direct impact on the success of the assets, the company, and the communities they serve.
The assets are distinctive and are designed to stand apart from other properties in the market. As a developer and operator, they curate environments that attract diverse communities, drive urban regeneration, and create spaces where people feel truly at home. You will be responsible for optimising the performance of these one-of-a-kind assets, from operational excellence to strategic portfolio growth, while ensuring that each property is managed with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership and Portfolio Management:
- Lead the development and execution of the asset management strategy for our distinctive portfolio of PBSA properties, ensuring alignment with the company's vision and long-term goals.
- Provide a hands-on approach to managing assets, ensuring each building operates efficiently and delivers maximum value
- Operational Excellence and Hands-On Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of each asset, ensuring that property management is efficient, cost-effective, and enhances the overall tenant experience.
- Ensure that each asset is uniquely positioned within the market and delivers distinct value-whether through its design, amenities, or community-focused approach.
- Unique Asset Positioning and Innovation:
- Continuously innovate and find new ways to enhance the value of our assets-whether through design changes, technological integrations, or new community engagement strategies.
- Building Strong Communities:
- Foster a deep understanding of the communities that interact with our buildings, ensuring that we create spaces that support long-term relationships, diversity, and social sustainability.
- Implement community engagement strategies that allow residents and local organisations to have a meaningful stake in the properties, ensuring tenant satisfaction and loyalty.
- Risk Management and Financial Oversight:
- Take full accountability for managing risk across the portfolio, ensuring that financial performance, operational standards, and market conditions are continuously monitored and optimised.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure that each asset meets its financial and operational targets, identifying opportunities for cost savings, value improvements, and revenue growth.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build strong, long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders-including investors, tenants, local communities, and regulatory bodies-to ensure the ongoing success and relevance of our assets.
Who are you?
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in asset management, or a related field, with a strong understanding of PBSA operations
- Proven experience in managing both the operational and strategic aspects of a diverse real estate portfolio.
- Hands-on experience in building management and operations, including tenant relations, property maintenance, and operational cost management.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in managing portfolio performance, financial reporting, and budget oversight.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and foster a collaborative, results-driven environment.
- A creative, innovative mindset with a passion for creating spaces that have a positive social and environmental impact.
