Job description

We are looking for an articulate and intelligent Insurance Handler to be based in Gravesend.

The successful applicant will ideally be Cert CII qualified, although this is not essential, but will need to possess a significant degree of property insurance experience.

Acting as Insurance Handler you will be logging claims, issuing renewal documentation, ensuring records are up-to-date and liaising with internal and external customers.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

· Logging of insurance claims in accordance with AR status and procedures set out; liaising with Pi claims handler when required.

· New business quotes and policy inceptions

· Deal with cancellation of cover due to sales/lapses

· Processing of midterm adjustments

· Ensure property owner's cover is correct for each client (to include POL, terrorism and LOR covers as appropriate).

· Insurance renewals for all policies administered by the Insurance Department

· Maintaining client list and third party client list to ensure that all client information, etc is up to date for both clients where we arrange insurance and clients where we don't arrange insurance (latter for marketing purposes).

· Maintain mid-term adjustment schedules

· Supply information to clients/property managers on D&O insurance and why this is required.

· Supply information to clients/property managers on all aspect of engineering inspection and insurance and why this is required.

· All matters to be dealt with in accordance with FCA requirements.

· Undertake relevant training in accordance with CPD requirements.

· Process accounts payments and update ledger.

· Deal with all insurance queries and issues arising for all insurance clients, property managers, etc.

· In the absence of the Insurance Manager deal with all matters arising

· General administration

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Proven track record in property insurance.
  • Cert CII qualified, although not essential.
  • High standard of written and spoken English, especially grammar, spelling.
  • High level of concentration, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with a methodical and organised approach.
  • Able to effectively prioritise and multi-task.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with peers, managers, clients, brokers etc.
  • Dependable and flexible as well as possessing the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proactive, and able to take responsibility for own work..
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, most importantly Outlook, Word and Excel.

Remuneration:

Up to £30,000

Hours:

9 - 5.30 pm - Monday to Friday with a one hour lunch break. Will be required to be office-based at Gravesend for an initial induction period but can then reduce to 3 days per week thereafter, with the remaining days working remotely, depending on performance and experience.

Business Mileage:

45p per mile for business mileage

Long Service Award:

A free town centre parking permit can be arranged with Gravesham Borough Council which entitles half price parking or, subject to availability, a space can be booked via our Robin App in the Company car park the day before it is required.

Sports & Social Committee:
