This is a multifaceted role that will involve not only managing the delivery of refurbishment and development projects, but also providing strategic advice to our Asset Management team on all aspects of planning, refurbishment, and construction. What You'll Do:
- Take immediate ownership of all projects at a major hub in Birmingham centre, with a focus on delivering several large refurbishment projects
- Conduct pre-acquisition due diligence, reviewing building and M&E surveys
- Advise on refurbishment costs for business plans and manage projects to ensure they are completed on time and within budget
- Appoint and manage consultants, inspect properties, and negotiate settlements for dilapidations claims
- Provide expert advice on building-related matters such as tenant alterations and repairs
- Oversee planning processes, collaborate with external consultants, and liaise with authorities
- Lead professional project teams and implement statutory procedures like Stopping Up processes
- Prepare design and contract documentation, manage tendering, contract administration, and financial control through to completion
- Ensure compliance with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
- Coordinate with our internal project management team for effective scheme handover and management
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in building surveying within commercial property management
- A strong work ethic with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Assertive leadership with the ability to guide external consultants and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Creative problem-solving skills and a results-driven approach to delivering challenging projects
- MRICS qualification or equivalent in building or project management
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and project management skills
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently
- A commitment to health and safety, financial compliance, and commercial awareness
