Our client is a private Residential and Hospitality property developer, who are currently seeking a Planning Manager to join their established team based in North-West London.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work directly with the Managing Director on cradle to grave developments, from acquisition through to planning, design, construction and completion on projects across Central London, Greater London and the Home Counties.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and contribute technical expertise to the preparation, implementation and presentation complex and sensitive professional planning projects for the Group.
- To own every planning application and process each one through from inception and grant to completion including satisfaction of all conditions.
- Consider ,initiate and lead planning and design strategies to enhance existing permissions.
- Represent the Group at public meetings and public enquiries.
- Provide expertise toward the determination of planning and related applications and to contribute to negotiations to secure Group objectives.
- Undertake consultation and engagement on all applications including meeting with LPA's , attending committee meetings, public meetings and conducting appeals where appropriate.
- Keep the Group up to date on all planning and housing legislation and relevant policy updates and changes.
- Researching and preparing reports and analysis on relevant operations and activities with recommendations.
- Liaising with assisting and supporting other team members to provide an integrated and comprehensive service in relation to every Group development.
- Other duties required by the Group reflecting the experience and expertise of the position.
Candidate Requirements:
- A degree in Town Planning and/or other relevant professional qualifications including membership of the RTPI.
- Thorough knowledge of planning, development and local government policies and procedures including recent developments, current literature and sources of information related to planning and housing law.
iii. Knowledge of local government procedures and practices and possibly experience working at a senior level within one or more LPA's.
- Extensive contacts within the area of planning.
- Must be a dynamic self starter able to work on his or her own initiative and be willing to undertake all aspects of the role other than basic administrative tasks as the individual will be the sole person in the "Planning Department" of the Group.
- Knowledge of computer hardware and relevant software programmes.
vii. Must be innovative, detail-oriented, experienced in highly visible and/or controversial projects.
viii. Capable of managing multiple, high-priority assignments.
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships at all levels.
