Job description
We are currently working with super-prime residential owner, developer, and operator renowned for producing exceptional and exquisite residential properties in the UK and abroad. We have been appointed as their exclusive recruitment partner to find a Head of Commercial Finance to join their leadership team.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will play a key role in strategic planning and decision making for the business. Alongside the cash-flow management of the company, you will work as a key business partner for all the heads of department, including the Head of Financial Operations. This will involve travel to the project sites to get a true understanding for any challenges or opportunities that exist.
They key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Business Partnering
- Ability to quickly identify and understand the business strategy and use this knowledge to provide relevant insight into business performance.
- Provide proactive support to the senior leadership team and primarily the CEO while ensuring the rigor and integrity of the reporting process follows requirements.
- Provide a forward-looking and commercial view supported by a strong finance toolkit and excellent communication skills to help articulate different options and influence decisions.
- Utilise prior expertise processes and ability to identify opportunities for any process and system improvement.
Financial planning
Lead the budgeting, forecasts and financial planning process on behalf of the business, as well as quarterly re-forecasting, including:
- Planning and timetabling - Work with team leaders across development, procurement and finance to drive review and challenge current business norms, providing analysis to support review and improvement.
- Create, own and coordinate all financial modelling for the company, creating from scratch based on business requirements.
- Perform in-depth analysis of plans to identify areas of potential risk and opportunity
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to drive common understanding of anticipated future performance for current and future projects.
- Own the production of materials to drive focused review of plans for the CEO
Business analysis
- Development of new analysis and tools to deliver commercial insight to stakeholders
- Combine new and existing data / information and share actionable insights to enhance financial performance
- Drive the delivery of improvements to processes and systems
This is an exceptional opportunity for somebody with a strong Commercial Finance / FP&A background to be directly involved in strategic decision making that will help the growth and development of the business. The CEO regards this individual for this role as a key stakeholder in the business who will be working with all heads of department.
They are seeking somebody with the following experience and exposure:
- Strong finance background, ACA qualified or equivalent
- Commercial awareness with experience
- Advanced Excel skills, with strong financial modelling exposure
- Understanding of the dynamics of an entrepreneurial business
- Track record of driving strategic decisions in previous positions
