This Management Accountant role is working for the fastest growing independent Build to Rent ("BTR") operator in the UK with over 5,000 apartments across 15 sites. They are the largest operators of boutique hotels around the UK, including the Sunday Times Best Hotel of the North.

The business has doubled in scale in each of the last two years with a gross turnover forecast to reach £30m this year - that pace of growth is likely to continue for the foreseeable future as investment in BTR continues to gather pace amongst global institutional investors.

This Management Accountant position will combine accounting, finance and management to prepare internal financial reports and provide insight into business performance. The objective is to help senior management use financial information to inform business strategy, as well as contributing to decision-making that will ensure business growth and long-term success.

The main responsibilities for this role:

  • Preparing income statements for the business for a portfolio of key clients
  • Supporting and being a point of contact for key clients
  • Ensuring spending is kept in line with the budget & carrying out variance analysis
  • Budget planning and forecasting
  • Analysing financial performance and contributing to medium and long-term business planning and forecasts
  • Completion of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Helping improve business efficiency's
  • Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
  • Being a key contact for internal managers for financial support
  • Support the implementation of new processes and controls and the implementation of new systems.
  • Assisting the auditors as part of the year end audit & helping prepare financial statements
  • Build positive and productive working relationships with colleagues across the business
  • Strong communication and people skills to be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • To follow company policies and procedures
  • Ad-hoc accountancy tasks

It is important that you are studying towards your ACCA/CIMA/ ACA qualifications.
